Patrick Breslin, Founder and CEO. Before co-founding Relatable® in the Fall of 1999, Pat managed all of National Public Radio's music-related Web sites. He was Web producer, editor, writer and content manager for NPR shows such as Jazz Profiles, Billy Taylor's Jazz at the Kennedy Center and Performance Today. Previously, Pat was a consultant with KPMG, where he analyzed technology license agreements and performed intellectual property valuation for clients in the consumer electronics, telecommunications, music, software and video-game industries. Before joining NPR, he was an independent Web consultant for the National Geographic Society and the Smithsonian Institution. He has an M.A. in international economics and finance from Brandeis University and a B.A. in political science from Boston College. Pat's musical background includes three years performing in a Boston-based rock band.
Sean Ward, Founder and CTO. Sean co-founded Relatable® in November 1999. He has more than seven years experience in computer programming and consulting -- including Web design and development, computer training and digital video editing. While working for National Public Radio's New Media division, Sean developed an automated process for editing, encoding, transferring and serving online audio content. Sean was a member of the Newseum's Educational Technology Advisory Board and is on indefinite leave of abscence from the University of Virginia. Sean has extensive expertise in music recognition, collaborative filtering and large-scale parallel systems.
Isaac Richards, Senior Level Engineer. Isaac joined Relatable® in July 2000 from EMusic, where he served as the lead developer of the Linux version of the FreeAmp music player. Prior to that, Isaac served as the assistant network administrator for the Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, a member of the Case Western Reserve University Hospital System. Isaac developed one of the first MP3 players for Linux and reverse-engineered the serial protocol used by the OneTouch touch screen in order to create a driver for Xfree86 3.6. He has a B.S. in computer engineering from Case Western Reserve University, where he graduated with honors.
Songrit Maneewongvatana, Ph.D., Senior Level Engineer. Mr. Maneewongvatana brings specialized practical knowledge of nearest neighbor searching, computational geometry, classification, data mining, information retrieval and statistical data analysis to us. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Maryland in May 2001. Mr. Maneewongvatana is an expert on indexing and search methodologies for high density data sets, having published many papers on this and related subjects. He is responsible for projects related to Relatable® advanced server technology for both TRM acoustic fingerprinting and the Relatable® Engine.
